Identifying important services and tolerances
The list that commits the board, and the numbers it will have to defend
The exercise looks simple and never is: how many services? phrased how? at what granularity? and how do you set a tolerance you cannot currently meet? This course gives the full method, from the first workshop to the annual self-assessment.
Learning objectives
- Produce a defensible list of important services
- Calibrate granularity without going to extremes
- Set quantified tolerances and document them
- Draft the annual self-assessment
Intended audience
- Resilience leads
- Service owners
- Compliance
- Board secretariat
Prerequisites
- Operational Resilience Fundamentals
Detailed curriculum
Module 1
Building the list
Granularity, phrasing, number: the three decisions that structure everything else.
Module 2
Drafting the self-assessment
The board-approved annual document, section by section.
Assessment method
Self-check questions throughout the lessons, with no recorded score. Where an associated track leads to a certification, that certification has a separate exam.
Document issued
This course does not, on its own, lead to a certificate. A track certification, where one exists, is issued after its exam is passed.
