Corrective action
In French : Action corrective
Action to eliminate the cause of a nonconformity so that it does not recur. Distinct from correction, which only addresses the observed effect.

Non-fulfilment of a requirement. In audit, a major nonconformity — total absence of a required element — is distinguished from a minor one, which is an isolated lapse.
