Incident classification grid
One page, seven criteria, usable alone at 3 a.m.
The grid uses the harmonised criteria — clients affected, duration, geographical spread, data losses, service criticality, economic impact, reputation — each with the threshold to record and the data source. An uncertainty column allows classification without waiting for exact data.
How to use it
- Keep the grid to one page
- Record the best estimate and the uncertainty level
- Revise the classification in the intermediate report if the scale changes
