Business continuity plan template

Twelve pages, three reading depths, executable actions.

The template follows clause 8.4.4: purpose and scope, roles, activation criteria, immediate actions, resources, dependencies and interfaces, communication, recovery. Every action carries an actor, a verb and a completion criterion.

How to use it

  • Ban "where appropriate" and "as soon as practicable"
  • Test the plan with somebody who has never read it
  • Keep the plan reachable outside the information system
